THE ROAD TO PERSONAL PONIES
How Personal Ponies came into our lives.
When Katie was 9 years old, we decided we wanted to expand our volunteer services from fostering kittens and their mamas for the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire to other kinds of animals. Shortly after, I saw an article in the neighboring newspaper about a woman who helped breed ponies for the Personal Pony Program. The article excited me because it would allow Katie to be with ponies who she adores and for me to participate in an exciting volunteer program. I emailed the state director, Gail Schumann, to offer our help. Needless to say, 3 years later and countless visits to Gail's farm, we changed our land, got a small barn and now host Leah and Klover.

Leah and Klover are gentle and patient learners and teachers. They are incredible treasures - we are so grateful the Personal Pony program is letting us love them and share them with others. They are our miracles - we do believe!
The primary mission of Personal Ponies, Ltd. is to make magic in the lives of children. One way is to place ponies at farms like Cloud 9 Farm for the community to enjoy them. However the main way the program fulfills its mission is to place pairs of these special small Shetland ponies with families who have differently abled children, free of charge. If you interested in such a placement, please contact the NH State Director, Gail Schumann, at minis2@myfairpoint.net for more information. Other background about this amazing program can be found on the Personal Ponies national website http://www.personalponies.org and the New Hampshire state chapter at http://www.personalponies-nh.org .
